Desire at a Boil: Six Chapters into Tropical Permission
A slow-burn erotic vacation story about love, desire and the boundaries of marriage.

I’ve been publishing a serialized erotic novella here on Substack these past couple weeks, and we’re now six chapters deep into Tropical Permission — a high-heat, literary story about a married couple on vacation, rediscovering the edges of their desire and testing what lies beyond.
Each chapter builds on the last, threading erotic tension with emotional realism. It’s a story about fantasy, marriage, trust, and the places we don’t dare go — until we do.
If you’ve been meaning to catch up, or if this is your first time hearing about the series, here’s links to the first six chapters, and a quick guide to the story so far:
Chapter 1: Ocean Heat
Diane and James arrive at a luxury beach resort for their fifth anniversary — still in love, but both craving something more. A sensual, atmospheric introduction.
Chapter 2: The Red Bikini
A skimpy suit, lingering glances, and a spark of mutual exhibitionism begin to shift the dynamic between them.
Chapter 3: The Dinner Confession
Over too much wine, Diane confesses to threesomes in her past - with two guys. James is rattled but intrigued, perhaps more than intrigued.
Chapter 4: The First Time
Diane tells James every vivid, erotic detail of that old story — and it becomes their most intense night together yet.
Chapter 5: The Morning After
A quieter, more tender chapter — but the conversation turns honest. What they’re exploring might be more than just a game.
Chapter 5(a): The Spa
Diane reflects on the events of the last day, while luxuriating under the strong hands of a spa massage therapist.
Chapter 6: The Question
Poolside, a stranger’s attention lights a fuse neither of them are sure they’re ready for. James watches. Diane lets herself be watched.
New chapters drop Monday through Friday, so plenty of time left in the weekend to catch up. ;)
Let me know what you think — and if you’re reading, thank you! This story is just starting to open up.
