Short Story✍️ Freeway to the Festival
Free use: Caitlin didn’t know the term — but she learned fast.
Something a little bit different today! The Reddit r/Erotica sub is running a July short story contest with a “road trip” theme. My story is still waiting moderator approval on Reddit, but I wanted to share it here in the meantime. I hope you enjoy! It is quite explicit. - L.H.
Caitlin adjusted her sunglasses and squinted toward the oncoming car. A beat-up maroon Subaru pulled up with a crunch of gravel. Lena stuck her head out the passenger window, grinning like the devil herself.
“Get in, slut!”
Caitlin laughed and threw her duffel in the back. “It smells like Gatorade and ganja in here.”
“And you’re surprised?”
Lena’s beau, Carter reached back to slap her knee as she buckled in. “You ready for the most chaotic weekend of your life?”
She smiled eagerly but Caitlin was most definitely not ready for the “most chaotic weekend” of her life and was already second-guessing her decision to come on this adventure. A music festival in the middle of the nowhere with her BFF was a great idea. That was the idea months ago when they’d made plans and bought tickets. And then Carter entered the picture.
Carter, who was already shirtless, of course. Caitlin found his tendency to remove or just not wear a shirt most of the time the annoying affectation of a particular type of douche, but she wasn’t complaining about the view — tight, tan, well defined chest, muscular, tattoo covered arms resting casually on the wheel.
She didn’t know him well. He and Lena had only been dating a few months, and Caitlin hadn’t spent more than a few hours with him. She couldn’t argue about one thing: he was hot - in that smug, dick-swinging kind of way. She’d pegged him as trouble the first time they met.
The car pulled onto the highway, music blaring low. The sun caught Lena’s hair, turning it nearly gold.
“So,” Caitlin said, leaning forward between the seats, “who are you most excited to see? I think the Friday lineup is insane—”
She stopped. Mid-sentence.
Because Carter had just unzipped his fly and taken out his cock.
Lena, without a word, unbuckled her seatbelt, bent over from the passenger seat and took him into her mouth.
Caitlin froze.
“Um...what the fuck?”
Lena didn’t answer right away. Her head moved slowly, rhythmically. She used one hand to jerk him into her mouth, and cupped his balls with the other, her pink acrylics delicate against his skin. Carter kept driving like nothing was happening.
“Three of my favorite Metal bands are playing on second stage Friday, so that’s where I’ll be most of the night,” he said nonchalantly as Lena slurped and sucked.
Caitlin stared. Then turned away. Then stared again as her best friend gagged on what she could now see was Carter’s huge dick.
Lena gradually started sucking with more intensity until he yelled “fuck!” loudly and unloaded down the back of her throat. She continued sucking after he came, until he tapped her head to indicate that was enough. Lena popped her mouth off with a soft, wet sound and turned to Caitlin, breezily, “Oh. Sorry. I swear I told you. We do free use.”
“Free… what?”
“Free use,” Lena repeated, wiping her mouth. “Like, Carter can do whatever he wants with me. Whenever. However. He has full access.”
“That’s… a thing?”
“It’s a kink,” Carter said, shoving his now flaccid but still impressively large dick back into his pants as he drove. “She likes being available. I like taking her.”
Caitlin blinked. Her brain couldn’t quite process what she was seeing. “So you’re just… gonna be blowing him the whole drive?”
“Not the whole time,” Lena said.
“Just whenever I want her to,” Carter chimed in.
“Unless I’m driving. Then he fingers me.” They both nodded in agreement.
Caitlin pressed her thighs together, unsure whether to scream or laugh.
The rest of the day passed in a kind of sun-baked blur. The highway unfurled before them, long and straight, cutting through fields and trees and the occasional burned-out strip mall. Lena sucked Carter off at a gas station. She rode shotgun with her tits out for 100 miles. He fingered her at a red light.
At one point, he pulled over on the side of a country road, bent her over the hood, and fucked her. Caitlin sat in the backseat watching her best friend get smashed against a Subaru in broad daylight, trying not to touch herself.
That night, they checked into a cheap motel with a single queen bed and a pull out sofa, which was gross and uncomfortable in either of its use cases. There was no air conditioning. The air smelled faintly of mildew and cigarettes.
They had offered for her to share the bed, but Caitlin politely declined. She was laying on the pull out, trying unsuccessfully to get comfortable, when Lena walked out of the bathroom completely naked and laid in bed.
“Sleep tight,” she said to Caitlin.
Carter emerged from the bathroom moments later, also completely naked. Caitlin had seen him many times, too many times, without his shirt off, so she knew he had a great body but seeing the entirety of him was something to behold.
He briefly locked eyes with Caitlin, who looked away bashfully. Then he went to the bed, pulled off the blanket, rolled Lena onto her stomach and mounted her from behind. Just got on top and slid inside her like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Caitlin, across the room on the fold-out couch, watched.
Watched Carter push Lena’s face into the pillow. Watched her legs limp on the mattress as he thrust into her with ferocity. Watched her body jerk and tremble as he came inside her with a groan.
Caitlin’s fingers were in her panties. She couldn’t help it.
She came fast, and hard, biting her fist to stay quiet.
And then again.
Finally, when her thighs were sticky and sore, she fell asleep wondering what it would feel like to be used that way. To be someone’s property.

The next morning, Caitlin slid into the back seat again while Lena took the wheel. Carter looked rumpled and cocky, a little sunburned already, but beautiful in that ruin-you kind of way.
Caitlin hesitated.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Shoot,” Lena said, drumming her fingers on the steering wheel.
“This whole free use thing… I’ve never seen anything like it. I mean... last night? I couldn’t stop watching.”
Lena smiled. “I can see how it might be a little shocking at first.”
Carter reached over and pushed Lena’s sundress up. She didn’t react, just lifted her hips to help.
“What do you like about it?” Caitlin asked.
“I don’t have to say yes every time. I already did. That’s the whole point. Now he can. And I love that he does.”
“You’re not worried about, you know… boundaries?”
“We set the boundaries,” Carter said, slipping two fingers inside Lena. She let out a soft gasp and kept her eyes on the road, nodding in agreement. “And we both like them this way.”
Caitlin watched his hand between Lena’s thighs. Watched the way her jaw clenched and relaxed.
“Does it ever get… boring?”
Lena laughed. “No. It’s never boring. It’s like being a toy he never gets tired of. And I never have to ask to be played with.”
Caitlin’s stomach fluttered.
She sat back in her seat, heart thudding, clit tingling.
By the time they pulled into the next gas station, her mind was spinning. The day had turned hot again, the car sticky and humid. Carter got out to fill the tank. Lena headed inside to grab snacks.
Caitlin followed her into the store.
She didn’t plan the words. They just came out.
“Would you be mad if I asked to… I don’t know. Try it?”
Lena turned, one eyebrow raised.
“Try what?” She was going to make her say it.
“You know... free use.”
“You want Carter to have free use of you?”
“Just for the weekend,” Caitlin quickly clarified. “I mean… you guys are already half-naked and fucking in front of me all day and night. I figured… if you were okay with it?”
Lena tilted her head, considering. Then she smiled.
“You can ride shotgun.”

They waited by the car. When Carter returned from the restroom, Lena pulled him aside. Caitlin couldn’t hear their conversation, but she saw the way his face lit up. Saw the way he glanced over at her, and the slow curl of his grin.
She took the front seat, heart pounding. Her tank top was already damp with sweat.
Carter slid behind the wheel and didn’t speak.
Just reached over, grabbed the neckline of her shirt, and yanked it down.

My only thought is that it doesn't seem very respectful of them to put her in that situation, nor do I especially like the way he seems to be selfish in his actions.
That aside, it was a good read. Would be uncomfortable to be in that situation at first, but I could see enjoying it as well.
